Holidays to Tucepi

There’s a rather stylish seafront with marina and a good choice of bars, restaurants and shops. Boat trips including the day-long fish picnic by boat can be booked from local agencies and booths on the seafront.

Water sports are on offer from the main beach from early June usually until late September.

Nearby Mount Biokovo Nature Reserve is home to golden eagles and the Balkan chamois. There are organised excursions to visit tiny hamlets which retain the traditional way of life and there are biking trails into the foothills.

• Jeny restaurant is located in the old part of Tucepi and 250 metres above sea level. Owned and run by two brothers since 1986, this Michelin recommended restaurant offers modern Croatian cuisine using traditional ingredients.
• The small, rustic hamlets around Tucepi are sometimes used as cultural venues for small concerts and recitals and it is rather charming. Ask locally or watch out for posters.
• Both hotels we feature in Tucepi, Laurentum and Villa Marija are around three minutes walk to Tucepi seafront and beach.
• Easy for day trips to Dubrovnik, Split, the islands of Mljet and Korcula. On your own using catamarans from nearby Makarska or with an organised excursion and guide.
• Skywalk Biokovo opened in 2020 at an elevation of 1228 metres and 17 kms north east of Tucepi. Not for the fainthearted or those nervous of heights. This is an observatory with an entire glass floor and fabulous views.
