The history of Domus Blanc runs deep, beginning in 1870 with its construction by French Consul Paul Blanc. He lived in Chania from 1886 to 1901 where he quickly became friends and political allies with his neighbour, Eleftherios Venizelos, who later served as Prime Minister of Greece. Known for his love of fine food, exquisite wines, and the art of living well, Paul Blanc’s home was always a place of warm hospitality, reflecting his refined tastes and welcoming spirit which is relevant today 156 years later.
