Serenissima Boutique Hotel

The Serenissima is located within the picturesque alleys of the old Venetian town of Chania and within a few minutes walk of the old port, several beautiful shops, bars and restaurants.  The maritime and folklore museums are a short walk distance away.  Without doubt, the old town is one of the most beautiful in Greece, blending Venetian, Moorish and Byzantine architecture.

The Venetians occupied Chania from the 13th to the 17th century and the old town was largely built by them, with some light touches by the Ottomans who ruled for 250 years after the Venetians.  The building that houses the Serenissima is a monument in itself and has been lovingly restored with love and respect to the history of Greek heritage.  Arches from the Venetian period are prevalent throughout the building, contributing to the elegant and romantic atmosphere. The unique, fully restored (but not working) Ottoman Hammam (bath) is fully representative of the hotel’s philosophy; serenity, luxury and relaxation.

This is a beautiful hotel, a fitting tribute to such an atmospheric town and an ideal luxury base.

Accommodation

The hotel has just 7 rooms, each with its own character. The rooms are classed as standard, superior double, junior suite, superior suite, top floor superior suite with terrace and superior split-level suite with terrace.

The services, luxuries and amenities are the same in the standard room with courtyard view as in the larger rooms and include king-size bed, soft parquet floors, luxury Coco-Mat 4-layered  mattresses, safe-deposit and laptop safe with charger, central heating and air-conditioning, pillow menu, WiFi and high speed internet, complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities, writing desk, telephone, satellite smart TV, minibar/fridge, iron and ironing board, Molton Brown luxury amenities, bathrobe, slippers, hairdryer.

The suites are progressively larger with a lounge area commensurate with the size of the rooms which range from 27 sq m to 48 sq m for the superior split level suite with private terrace, where the bedroom is upstairs and the living area downstairs.

Note: Due to traffic restrictions the transfer drop off/pick up point is c.200m away.

Superior Suite

Superior Suite with air conditioning, bathroom (shower and hairdryer), telephone, smart television, safe deposit box, mini bar and complimentary WiFi. An extra bed is possible for an adult or two children. A couple of Superior Suites are located on the top floor and have a terrace.
