Long regarded as one of Norway’s great outdoor hubs, Voss sits between Bergen, the Sognefjord and the Hardangerfjord, with easy rail access, yet feels immersed in nature. Mountains rise on all sides, rivers carve through valleys and the seasons bring constant change - from long, light-filled summer days to crisp winter landscapes ideal for snow sports.

The Elva Hotel itself is thoughtfully designed to reflect its surroundings, blending modern Scandinavian architecture with natural materials and a strong sense of place. Accommodation is spread between the main building and five mini-houses set close to the water’s edge. Interiors are light, elegant and understated, with high-quality furnishings and carefully considered details.

Adjacent to the hotel is the Voss Active adventure base offering everything from white-water rafting and zip-lining to paragliding, mountain biking and guided hiking. Not every experience here however needs to be high-adrenaline. Voss also caters to those who prefer a slower pace, whether that means lakeside walks, quiet moments amongst the mountains - easily accessible using the Voss Gondola, or slow travel by train. You can also enjoy the hotel's hot tubs and sauna (payable locally).

Tvinnefossen Superior family room is housed in its own independent building, adjacent to the lake. The mezzanine loft area can accommodate two single beds or a double bed.
