Despite its small size - just 7 miles long and 3 miles wide - the enchanting Ionian island of Paxos is a haven for beach lovers. You're never far from a 'spiantza,' as the locals call them, and each one offers a slice of unspoiled paradise. All bar one are of gleaming white pebbles, and the waters here are unlike anywhere else: a stunning translucent turquoise so clear you can see the seabed many feet below.
Whether you're seeking lively, organised shores or secluded, hidden coves, Paxos has a perfect spot for you. From smooth pebble beaches and dramatic white cliffs to sheltered bays and lively beach bars, let us guide you to our favourite spots.
Kipiada Beach
Tucked away on the island’s west side, Kipiada is a pristine, unorganised beach - and one of our favourite spots on the island. Easily accessible by car, a short walk down a narrow path opens up to a breathtaking scene: the island's longest beach, a stunning crescent of dazzling white pebbles backed by lush hills of cypress, pine and olive trees. The pebbles extend into the water, creating that famous crystal-clear clarity.
Arrive early to secure your spot and you might just have this slice of paradise all to yourself. While you'll often see private boats anchored offshore, its size ensures a sense of calm.
Stay at: Villa Perseus and Loggos Mills.

Avlaki Beach
Avlaki is a true hidden gem on Paxos's eastern coast and a favourite among locals, and our team. This naturally-protected horseshoe bay is framed by smooth white pebbles and rugged black stones, with the fragrant scent of wild flowers filling the air. As you descend the residential road, you’ll be greeted by an incredible view. The calm, shallow waters make it an ideal spot for families and a fantastic place to snorkel. Keep an eye out for sea bream and schools of silverfish darting amongst the rocks. The tranquillity and natural beauty make it the perfect place to unwind.
Stay at: The Kalokairia Residence and Villa Pelagos.

Marmari and Levrechio Beaches
Just a short walk from the charming village of Loggos, you'll find two delightful beaches. A mere 5-minute stroll away lies Levrechio, a narrow, organised beach with a popular taverna and sun loungers. Here you can enjoy a refreshing drink or a delicious meal right by the sea. It's the perfect combination of natural serenity and convenient amenities. Marmari, a further 5 minutes’ walk, is a small, unorganised beach perfect for an afternoon escape. Olive and pine trees hang over the shore, offering a beautiful natural frame and welcome shade from the midday sun.
Stay at: The Beach House, Harbour View, Aleca's Cottage, Elias Apartment and Panos Apartment.

Monodendri Beach
For those who prefer their beach day with a few more comforts, Monodendri is the most organised and popular beach on Paxos. With two full-service tavernas and a vibrant pool bar, it’s a hub of activity. While there's a charge for sun loungers, there’s plenty of free space to lay out your towel. The trees provide great natural shade in the afternoon. Monodendri also offers a variety of water sports, from kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding to jet skis, making it a great spot for adventure seekers.
Stay at: Kapassa House, Villa Oly and Livadi Studios.

Kaki Lagada Beach
Located a 40-minute walk north of Gaios and easily reachable by car in around 5 minutes, Kaki Lagada is an organised beach with a laid-back vibe. Here, a charming beach bar and taverna are at your service, providing everything you need to while away the hours on comfortable sun loungers. The beach also offers a selection of water sports, including jet skis, SUP, and canoes, so you can choose between a relaxing day of sunbathing or an afternoon of fun on the water.
Stay at: Theodora Apartments, Odysseus Apartment and Villa Perseus.

Mongonissi Beach
The island’s only true sandy beach, man-made Mongonissi can be reached by a small bridge. This is a real gem and in a peaceful location. It has a beach taverna for food and drinks, has moorings for yachts and small boats and is easily accessible by car. This is a popular stop for boat trips.
Stay at: Agali Hotel, Poseidon's Nest and Villa Yakovos.
