Dear Chris
First of all I have to thank you and your terrific team here and abroad for organising our recent holiday: one week in Corfu and one in Paxos. Not only organising but holding our hands through the whole tedious Covid processes and calming me down with a possible plan B when we lost all connection in Paxos trying to Facetime our pre-departure Covid test. I guess these days the team also has to have plans C, D, E and F.
I am sure all other returning guests have said this to you but, after the latest nonsensical 'Traffic Lights' decision, let me reassure any wavering clients that, if people are able to quarantine, organise the tests and aren't looking to dance every night away, there really has not been a better time to visit Greece.
Although it was heartbreaking to see Gatwick South terminal boarded up and Corfu airport deserted, we flew through security either end in under two minutes. (It took ten to come back through Gatwick security but that was because a computer was malfunctioning!) And I haven't been on such empty planes since the first flights after 9/11.
Has Corfu and Corfu town ever been so enjoyable? Not a selfie stick in sight. We even tried some sightseeing and had the Old Fort to ourselves. Needless to say the Greeks were even more welcoming than usual and far more disciplined at wearing masks than we are in the UK.
We can't wait to be back in May next year and - be warned - we will probably change our departure date so we can spend some time in Corfu town before our week in Paxos
And thank you so much for the bottle of Prosecco. There was really no need but it went down a treat. Much appreciated.
With very best wishes and every finger crossed for you for the rest of the season
