My first visit to Swedish Lapland during the Midsummer far exceeded any, if not all of my expectations. I had been told by a few colleagues how beautiful Sweden is and they were right. Travelling from Lulea to Kiruna via Harads, Haparanda, Tornedalen and Jukkasjarvi, I witnessed spectacular landscapes - the tallest trees, crystal clear rivers and lakes, lush green vegetation, jagged mountains and quiet roads.

Veneto is the northeastern region of Italy stretching from the Dolomite Mountains to the Adriatic Sea. Venice, its regional capital, is famed for its canals, Gothic architecture and Carnival celebrations. Veneto was part of the powerful Venetian Republic for more than 1,000 years, between the 7th and 18th centuries. Near alpine Lake Garda, medieval Verona is known as the setting of Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet." In June, our colleague Alison spent two weeks exploring the region's cities, heritage sites and a variety of cultural experiences.

I just had to write to say, what a fabulous holiday I experienced travelling with you to Ikaria on the 4th of July this year. Absolutely everything, from the booking (organised so helpfully and efficiently by Jordan in your Greece team) to accommodation and transfers were outstanding . So thoughtful, clearly and carefully arranged, that I wanted to express this and my thanks personally to you and to all your amazing staff.

It was the last day of our week’s stay in the Pousada Convento de Évora. I was sitting in the little courtyard outside our “cell”, looking up. Hundreds of swallows were diving, wheeling, soaring at dizzying speed against the deep blue sky which had overlooked us for seven days. My mind was full of impressions of this beautiful city in this wonderful country and here they are….
