In its 60th year of independence, we take a look at Cyprus and how you can holiday there this year safely, whilst discovering new delights.
Cyprus is one of the jewels in the Mediterranean’s crown; an island rich in history and full of wonderful experiences just waiting to be had. Here, you can sink your toes into warm sand, feel the sun kissing your skin, and smell the refreshing salty breeze which is complemented by never-ending views of glistening blue waters – pure bliss!
With the attraction Cyprus holds, it may come as a surprise that it has had one of the lowest and stable COVID-19 case rates in Europe; which could be a result of their strict entry and testing requirements.
Currently, Cyprus sits on the FCDO “Travel Corridor” list, and British travellers are free to travel to Cyprus without the need to quarantine on return.
With a stable rate across the country, Cyprus has implemented measures to control the spread of Coronavirus. At first, it may seem a minefield of information, however, we hope that with our guide below, any confusion may be removed.

What do I need to do to be allowed into Cyprus?
Simply two things are required to get to Cyprus
● A negative PCR Test conducted within 72 hours before your scheduled departure
● The Cyprus Flight Pass completed within 24 hours of your scheduled departure
A PCR test is a simple swab of saliva taken by the throat of the nasal canal and takes seconds.
A PCR test must be taken within 72 hours of your scheduled departure time and submitted to a certified laboratory for testing. Once you have received confirmation of a negative test, you are required to upload the negative result to the Cyprus flight pass website which can be found at https://cyprusflightpass.gov.cy/. This application process can be started within 24hours of departure, and instant approval for travel is given.
Once you have your Cyprus Flight Pass, you should print a copy and show it at the boarding gate prior to flying.
Where can I get a PCR test?
There are many providers on the market offering the appropriate tests. However, you should use due diligence and ensure the laboratory providing the test is certified.
Sunvil have their own preferred partner for PCR testing, offering testing prior to departure guaranteeing a window for return of the test results. Should you be considering travelling to Cyprus, please speak to one of our consultants who can book the test for you.
