It remains a jewel in the crown of the North Eastern Aegean, possibly not so well known to many due to the fact the journey requires a brief stop at Samos enroute. To any Hellenic lovers looking for something a little different then this is the place for you.
Do not expect lots of tourists, (except native Greek people from the mainland in July and August), but do expect to find fabulous beaches, exceptional, reasonably priced reastaurants/tavernas and a lovely, friendly welcome from the local Limniot population. It most certainly is not suitable for those expecting loud, noisy, hectic nightlife, just sit back, chill out and have a most relaxing and refreshing holiday.
With the admirable and friendly help of Annette, she will guide you through the various amenities and pleasures to be found on this wonderful island, lots of ancient history if that is your thing and also interesting and absorbing, reasonably priced local cultural events.
Oh, did I mention the fabulous beaches? if not, then I will now! In the main, most people use Rhia Nera or Plati beaches dependant on your choice of accommodation, but both are clean, with shallow and safe water for swimming or just "cooling off"!! As for accommodation, my personal choice is Sotiris Apartments, less than 5 minutes walk to Rhia Nera beach but up to equal standard, is Villa Afrodite Hotel, in Plati, having attended social evenings there on several occasions I can heartily recommend!
This fabulous secret is shared by many repeat clients like myself, but there is always room for plenty more, newcomers will not be disappointed if you love the relaxed atmosphere of a traditional Greek Island without the influx of mass tourism.... come and try it, just once, and I'm sure you will soon become a "regular" like myself!
