After all the concerns of the Covid-19 pandemic and whether we would ever get back to Greece, I'm pleased to say we did and had a lovely time once again in Parga!!!
The issues with completing documents prior to departure were somewhat fraught but we managed them with a bit of helpful advice from the Sunvil team. We left a message with a query and they promptly called us back in good time.
Anyway we got to Parga, after a very easy trip which was actually better than usual as there were less people everywhere. At London Gatwick they checked we had our QR codes from the PLF documentation but on arrival into Parga there was less obvious scrutiny but a great welcome nonetheless.
Most shops and restaurants in Parga were open and functioning very similar to before the pandemic. All the waiters wore masks and there was more space between the tables in the tavernas and cafes. The beach was also quieter and sunbeds easily available and we tried out our new full-face masks and went snorkelling in the crystal clear waters.
During our holiday we had great weather despite the customary couple of short thunderstorms, excellent food (including too many cakes) and wine and enjoyed leisurely walks in the hills in the early morning. To discover and explore those 'out of the way' places we hired a couple of scooters - the perfect way to experience the real Greece. It was so good to be back in a place we both love and to be welcomed by the very friendly people of Parga.
