Today marks a poignant moment in the Sunvil history books as we bid a fond farewell to our Old Isleworth offices.
Did you know that Sunvil - like many great businesses - began life in a front room? Back then, we hand-wrote tickets, listed departures on a whiteboard and personally delivered food to clients. But even in those early days, we shared a dream: that with passion, hard work and dedication, we could make our mark on the travel industry.
In 1972, that dream took its first big step forward when we moved into our first premises on Richmond Road in North Sheen. Then, in 1983, we moved to Upper Square, Old Isleworth - the place we proudly called home for 42 years. Over the following years we slowly expanded from a single shop front to take over the neighbouring sweet shop and then in 1995 the old Barclays Bank building. This year, we’ve embarked on the next chapter: a new office designed for the future, with open, collaborative spaces and seamless connectivity - a space that reflects who we’ve become and where we’re going.
If those walls in Old Isleworth could talk, they’d tell stories of garden parties, multilingual conversations in Greek, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese (often all at once and at volume!); of brainstorms that sparked new holiday destinations; of students who started their careers with us and are now flying high. They’d tell of long evenings, shared pizzas and teamwork through challenges - airline failures, ash clouds, terrorist attacks and even Covid. Through it all, we’ve shared laughter, tears and friendships that have shaped who we are.
The journey hasn’t always been smooth, but every twist and turn has strengthened us. Together, we’ve built solid foundations - and we continue to grow, adapt and innovate.
Moving on from Old Isleworth doesn’t mean leaving the past behind. It’s a celebration of how far we’ve come, the support of the people we've met, the friends we've made and the vision that drives us forward. Thanks to the trust of our partners and the passion of our people, Sunvil remains a voice in travel that you can rely on - a team dedicated to creating holidays that inspire connection, support our destinations and turn exploration into lasting memories.
