Our 9-night itinerary visits the capitals of Scandinavia using First Class train transfers and offers free time for exploration. City break to Lisbon

The bustling city of Lisbon is both historically rich and enchanting. Known as the city of seven hills, Lisbon has a host of museums, churches, squares and quaint cobbled streets waiting to be discovered. Home to some of the greatest modern art collections in Europe and one of the world’s leading design and fashion museums, the city is quickly becoming recognised for its gastronomic experiences, lively nightlife and excellent shopping opportunities. Our 4 night city break includes a complimentary ride on the Gloria Tram and complimentary access to 20 museums (November to March).

Chile

The Atacama desert in Chile is renowned as one of the best places in the world for stargazing. This is due to its high altitude, clear skies - some 300 days per annum, and dry climate which provide optimal conditions for observing the stars. The desert is home to several world-class observatories including the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) and the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope (VLT), which attract astronomers from all over the world.

On our 5 night stargazing itinerary, we will transfer you away from the artifical lights on San Pedro de Atacama to an area where darkness envelopes and the stars look as if they're sparkling like jewels in the night sky. During the day, visitors can explore the unique landscapes of the desert, including the otherworldly Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) and the El Tatio geysers.

Rose has been visiting Latin America for over two decades (first visit to the continent was in 1998) where she had many adventures as a single 30 something getting lost in Patagonia! It didn't put her off as she returned with her toddler daughter for 6 months in 2005 whilst working for an adventure trekking and riding outfit in the Torres del Paine National Park, Chile. Realising that Latin America is an ideal place to travel with children, Emily has accompanied Rose over the years on trips to Peru, Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Costa Rica. Rose is now enjoying exploring new destinations with her partner. The most recent trips have been to Costa Rica, Panama and Guyana.
